The City of Galion announced Wednesday that it will hold a countdown at noon on Friday to celebrate the park opening. Children are invited to attend the event as the water features are activated.

After a few years of struggling, Galion was able to successfully open their newest addition to their East Park, an interactive aquatic playground referred to as Splash Park. Since the pool that used to be in East Park had been removed, the city tried to get the idea up and running a few years back, but luck just didn't seem to be in their favor.

Press release. Operating hours for the Galion Splash Park will be reduced beginning Wednesday, Aug. 24. The new hours during weekdays will be 3:30-7 p.m. On Saturdays and Sundays, it will be open from 12-5 p.m. The Splash Park will also be open from 12-5 on Labor Day (Sept. 4), which will be the last day of operation this season.
