Cover the pot and let the figs sit in the sugar overnight. Heat the pot on the stovetop over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves (this only takes a few minutes). Reduce the heat to low, add the lemon slices, and cook for about 2 hours. Divide the figs and syrup between sterilized jars.

Instructions. Preheat oven to 350°. Line a small rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion; cook until tender, about 8 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add thyme and sugar; cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are deep golden brown, about 25 minutes.

Start by thinly slicing your peeled onions. Heat the oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Preheat oven to 400° F. Heat oil in an oven-proof skillet over medium high heat. Add onion and cook, stirring frequently, for 5 minutes. Move onions to one side of the skillet. Directions. Prepare a water bath canner and jars, and set them to boil while you make the preserve. Preheat the oven to 425° F. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the onions into thin half moons. Spread the onions out on a baking sheet; use parchment paper, or oil the baking sheet lightly to prevent sticking.

Add diced figs, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to the pan, stirring to combine. Add the sprigs of rosemary and thyme and stir again. Bring the mixture to a boil and then reduce the heat to low. Let the mixture simmer for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and becomes a jam-like consistency.

Directions: Bring 1 quart of water to a boil on the stove. When it's boiling, remove from heat and let it cool until it is comfortable enough to touch. Place 2 tablespoons of those delicious preserves in a teacup and pour the warm water over them. Stir with a spoon until the preserves dissolve completely, then serve!

Arrange the baguette slices on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper or foil. Spread 1-2 teaspoons of fig jam on each baguette round, then top with a pile of caramelized onion and a chunks of blue cheese. Place in the oven to toast for about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with fresh rosemary and a couple of grinds of black pepper.

Preheat oven (and a pizza stone) to 400. Top your dough with the fig spread, onions, chicken sausages and half the cheese. Slide onto the pizza stone and bake until the cheese is browned and bubbly, and the dough is cooked through, 10-17 minutes. (depending on your oven) Repeat with remaining pizza. Preheat oven to 500°F. Put pre-baked pizza crust on a baking pan or pizza stone. Add a layer of fig spread then add 3/4 the goat cheese, reserving a bit to crumble over top. Spread the caramelized onions over top, then crumble remaining goat cheese over caramelized onions. Bake 10 minutes.
