There are some pillow-type bed bumpers on the market online running for about $25-$40 each. But, since we just spent way over $600 on all the bed stuff, I was looking for the cheapest and easiest temporary solution. Resorting back to the original pool noodle idea, I decided to buff it up this time with three noodles stacked into a triangle.

The tighter the fitted sheets the better when it comes to the noodle staying in place.. If your sheets are loose or if you child really moves around a lot at night, you may want to cut one side of the noodle off to give it a flat side. Now my three year old would have to roll UP and OVER the noodle to fall out of bed.

Grab a sharp knife or a pair of scissors, and carefully make a straight and even cut. Take your time with this part, as a jagged or uneven cut might not fit properly around the bed frame or legs. After you've trimmed the pool noodle, wrap it around the edges of the frame. Ensure the pool noodle fits snugly and has no wiggle room.

Next, take the correctly-sized noodle and place it on the edge of the mattress under the fitted sheet and along the length of the bed. The noodle will provide just enough height and resistance that, should your child roll into it, it will stop them from going further. If your noodle is already shorter than the mattress, simply center it along.
